Ahmed Aagil (Ammadey) has once again claimed the Dhivehi Surf League championship title for 2025.

This marks his second league victory, following his earlier win since the competition was launched by the Maldives Surfing Association (MSA) in 2022.

MSA held three tournaments under the league this year. Ammadey took first place in both the Muleekolhu Raalhugandu and the newly introduced Kerandoo tournament held in Laamu Maabaidhoo.

He was defeated by Sayyid Salahuddin in the quarter-finals of the Rannamaari Challenge.

MSA determine league standings based on surfers’ two highest-scoring events of the year.

With 2,000 points from his two wins, Ammadey secured the top spot, followed by Yasin Ahmed Nasheed with 1,860 points, who also became the league’s Under-18 junior champion. Yasin competed against Ammadey in the Kerandoo final.

Ahmed Hisham Shaheem, who reached the Golden Challenge final, placed third overall, while Kayan Abdulla Areef, Sayyid Salahuddin, and Mohamed Inan Abdul Hannan completed the top six.

Past league champions include Hussain Areef (Ibu), who won the 2023 title before retiring, and Hoodh Ahmed (Hoobz), last year’s winner, who only competed in this year’s Muleekolhu Raalhugandu event.

This year marks the fourth edition of the National Surf League organized by the MSA.
