Eagles secured their first win of the Dhivehi Premier League season with a 2–0 victory over TC Sports yesterday.

Eagles, who were playing their seventh match of the season including the Charity Shield, broke their winless run thanks to goals from Ismail Eesa and Katsuyoshi Kimishima.

Captain Ahmed Rizwan had the chance to give Eagles the lead in the 54th minute after a handball in the box, but his penalty was saved by TC’s Egyptian goalkeeper Mohamed Hassan, who pushed the rebound away before defenders cleared the danger.

Eesa later converted from close range after a pass from Rizwan, before Ibrahim Mahdhy Hussain (Feydhoo Ibbe) set up Kimishima for the second goal; a low shot from the edge of the area that beat goalkeeper Ahmed Hassan.

With the win, Eagles climb into the top six with six points from six games. All teams in the league have now registered at least one victory.
