Maziya Sports Club has secured a massive 9-0 victory over
Green Streets, launching them back to first place with 15 points and a positive 22 goal
difference.
This result is the largest winning margin recorded so far this season.
New Radiant had topped the table at the end of the fourth week of the
league, which concluded last Tuesday.
Entering today's match, Maziya and New Radiant were tied on points, both
having 12 points. New Radiant was in first place due to a one-goal advantage in
goal difference over Maziya.
In the match played this afternoon at the National Football Stadium,
Maziya's Spanish forward Sergio Iglesias scored a hat-trick. Additionally, young forward Mohamed
Ilaan Imran scored two goals.
The other four goals for Maziya were scored by Hamza Mohamed (Hampu), Naiz
Hassan (Dhaadhu), Ibrahim Aisam (Toni), and Luiz Almeida.
Green Streets managed to hold Maziya for only the first 20 minutes. Iglesias
opened the scoring in the 20th minute, breaking the deadlock.
Maziya concluded the first half with a
dominating five-goal lead.
