New Victory Coach Gergely Geri has stated that with Male' being such a small place, it is hard to keep plans of teams a secret from competitors.
Geri assumed the position of Victory's coach earlier this month. In the first match under his coaching, Victory will face off against their longtime rival New Radiant.
Responding to a question posed by a journalist asking his plans to improve Victory's status, Geri said that he does not wish to elaborate on the plans.
However, with Male' being such a small place, rival teams will be able to figure out the strategy after just one match, he said.
"I do not wish to share tactical details and give away too much information about us. But with just one match, everyone will be able to see the changes we have brought. Male' is a very small place. Nothing can be kept secret. However, I do not want to elaborate on special changes we have brought," Geri said in the pre-match press conference.
Teams in Maldives practice on the same grounds. Due to this, teams are able to observe rivals even during practice, making it easy to learn their strategies.
Geri stated that his players showed promise in the practice sessions. He expressed satisfaction with players' discipline and work rates.
"But of course, even in our team, there are things that need further improvement," he said.
Geri's comments on opponent New Radiant is that the team has several strong individual players, and that they have exhibited teamwork in all departments as well.
Today's match between New Radiant and Victory will start at 3:50pm.
