Eagles has stopped Odi Sports' opportunity of sitting at the top of the leaderboard in the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League.
The match ended with no goals scored from either side.
Odi were playing quite well before the league was paused due to the two Asian Cup qualifier games Maldives were a part of. Odi had won three of the matches they had played in the league and maintained first place.
With Maziya winning against United Victory on Sunday night, Maziya now sits at first place.
If Odi had won their match, they would be equal in points to Maziya, trailing right behind. Odi now sits at second place in the leaderboard. Maziya is in first place with a two-point lead.
Post-break, Eagles came out to play with former team player Abdullah Haneef (Benjo) as coach. Eagles' game against Odi was Haneef's first as a Dhivehi League coach. The Eagles have not won a match since the break.
Haneef has given his assurance that he will turn the team around.
Eagles goalkeeper Mohamed Ashwan played a key role in maintaining the draw during their game against Odi last night. The 28-year old keeper showed great skill on the field.
He had defended against Odi's attacks throughout the match, even during 1-on-1 encounters.
The Eagles' forwards had also pressed Odi's defenses.
