Valencia keeps proving that they can compete against teams with big budgets even though they have a young squad, said Head Coach Ahmed Mujuthaba (Fesco) as per their latest match in the league.
Valencia saw a younger squad come out to play this season. The team mainly consists of players under 18 years of age. Senior players consist of foreign talents.
Valencia's most recent game was against New Radiant in the Dhivehi Premier League (DPL) on 1st October. New Radiant won against Valencia with great difficulty, with Captain Ali Fasir's (Sentey) experience being a key factor.
Valencia's biggest rivals are New Radiant and Victory. Even though some people believe Valencia's team is weaker than their rivals, Fesco does not have the same opinion.
Fesco appealed to them to watch Valencia's game against New Radiant.
"If you were to watch Valencia's game against New Radiant, you would have the answer to your question," said Fesco to a journalist regarding a question about Valencia's team being weak.
"We have practically shown our response to this in the match."
He stated that he cannot tell the media how they should view Valencia's playing in that match.
"Valencia has a very young team right now. New Radiant has an experienced squad backed by a large budget. Valencia is a bit ordinary in comparison. However in reality, let's see what the differences were on the battle grounds. The sort of result from the match. The kind of situation that brought out the result. How the first goal was scored. What the second goal was," said Fesco to the media after stating that he cannot tell them how to view the match.
Fesco went on to say that even though the squad is young, they will come out onto the pitch with a mighty spirit. He stated that it was a long-time practice the team would carry out.
"No matter who the players are, no matter how young they are, Valencia will not come out to play without a fighting spirit," said Fesco.
Valencia will be playing against City Sports next later tonight.
