Maziya Sports Club head coach Luisma Hernández has said that football and futsal share the same objective, and that a solution free of conflict must be found for both sports to progress together.

Players are representing their work places in the ongoing Club Maldives Futsal tournament. That is the state of affairs during a futsal tournament.

Football club coaches have always spoken about how solutions must be found so that football and futsal do not overlap, with Maldivian coaches usually speaking on this issue. This time, Spanish coach for team Maziya Luisma has spoken on this issue repeatedly.

As per Luisma, football and futsal are working towards a shared goal.

He noted that futsal is considered part of football even under FIFA’s standards, describing it as a branch of the sport played indoors and promoted globally by FIFA.

As Maldives has no indoor court, all tournaments are held at outdoor courts.

Luisma, who became Maziya's coach this January, said that the Maldivian football spirit is evident in the game played by the national team last Tuesday and the ongoing Club Maldives Futsal tournament.

"I am quite new to this place. However, during the national team match, I saw the excitement towards football. So many supporters came to the stadium. I believe that this is good news for Maldives," said Luisma.

"I see the same excitement for futsal, especially in the tournament that is currently being held in Huluhmale', which is where I live. I can hear the supporters every night. I believe we must find solutions where football and futsal do not overlap."

"The reason for this is I think the target for both games are quite similar."

Luisma said that trust in the FAM has sprouted due to football tournaments making a comeback after a year and a half.

"I feel like people have started forming their opinions about the FAM. More supporters will come, I beleive," said Luisma.

As per the Spanish coach, Maldives played quite well against Tajikistan last Tuesday. He said that he was quite satisfied with how the team had played.

"I was even more satisfied with how Maziya players had played for the national team," said Luisma.
