Skate Maldives has re-elected experienced sports administrator Mohamed Hanim as its President for the next four-year term.
Hanim, who currently serves as President, was elected along with a new executive committee during a special general meeting held last week.
A former national sprinter and National Athletics team coach, Hanim said he aims to work closely with the new committee to make Skate Maldives an exemplary sports association.

Hanim said the recent development of a skate arena in Male; marks a major milestone for the sport.
Sports Minister Abdulla Rafiu laid the foundation for the arena last week at Henveiru Usfasgandu, during a ceremony attended by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.
The arena will include a track for inline speed skating and a skateboard park for the skateboarding community. Minister Rafiu said construction is expected to be completed within two to three months.
“This is a long awaited dream of the skate community,” Hanim said, adding that the association will work hard to ensure the project is completed soon.
Hanim, who also managed the Maldives national football team during its 2008 SAFF Championship victory, said his goal is to raise skating to the level of other major sports in the country.
He plans to collaborate with the Education Ministry to promote skating across the Maldives and establish skating clubs in schools.
He also thanked parents for their continued support and expressed appreciation to Minister Abdulla Rafiu and President Muizzu for their efforts to secure land and resources for the skate arena project.
