Groundbreaking ceremony held for new Skate Arena

The foundation stone has been laid for the new Skates Arena being built at the Usfasgan'du area in Male', dedicated for sports skating. 

The foundation stone was laid by Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation Abdulla Rafiu and RCC Deputy Managing Director Adam Raheem. 

The project is being conducted by RCC under their CSR initiatives. 

Sports Ministry said that the Skate Arena will include a Speed Skate Track and a Skateboarding Park. 

The Speed Skate Track is designed for rollerskating, while the Skateboarding Park is for skateboards. 

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu also attended the groundbreaking ceremony held yesterday afternoon.

A dedicated Skating Association is also active now. The President of this association is Fitness and Physical Education expert Mohamed Hanim.  

Many young skaters attended the event, and showcased their talent.
