Odi Sports has maintained the top spot in the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League through winning against Victory with a 3-2 score.

The Dhivehi Premier League has gone on break following last night's match at the Galolhu National Stadium to accommodate two matches by the Maldives National Team against Tajikistan in the Asian Cup Qualifying.

All teams have now played three matches in the league. Odi Sports, New Radiant and Maziya have won all three of their matches.

The race to the top between these three teams are highly competitive. Each team now has nine points.

Odi is in the top spot based on goal advantage. New Radiant, ranking second, and Maziya, ranking third, each have a 10 goal advantage, while Odi has 11.

Although Slovakia's Gergely Geri was introduced as Victory's coach, he was not on the bench during last night's match, but was outside watching the team at play.

Assistant Coach Adam Abdul Latheef (Lahchey), who coached Victory in the run up to the league, led the team through last night's match.

Geri will officially begin coaching during this break in the league.

Odi and Victory made it to the First Division as the top two teams in the recent Second Division tournament. Odi beat Victory with a 3-2 score even in the finals of the Second Division.

Odi continues to show strong form in the First Division, while Victory, despite starting league preparation only recently, is steadily improving with each match.

Odi scored their first goal through a penalty in the last minutes of the first half.

The penalty was gained due to a foul by Victory's Abdulla Midh'hath Fahmy (Bichad) against Odi's Muzdhan Hassan in the penalty area. The goal was scored by Odi's Lithuanian forward Karolis Laukžemis.

Victory then evened the score through a goal scored by Ahmed Nashah in the 72nd minute.

Ali Shaamis (Thoppe') set up the goal by advancing into Odi's territory and threading a pass to Nashah, slipping past two defenders. Nashah received the ball and swiftly converted it into a goal.

However, Victory couldn't maintain the even score for long, as Karolis took the lead for Odi again.

Odi widened the lead about ten minutes later, with Ahzam Rasheed scoring Odi's third goal with a ball passed by Ahmed Aiham.

Victory's second goal was the result of a bicycle kick by Hussain Niyaz Mohamed (Bokri).
