Odi moves to top spot with remarkable win

Odi Sports has moved to the top of the Dhivehi Premier League with an astounding 1-7 win against Valencia.

Odi Sports has moved to the top of the Dhivehi Premier League with an astounding 1-7 win against Valencia. 

All teams have now played two matches in the league. New Radiant, Maziya and Odi each won both matches played. 

Each team has accumulated six points. But with Odi having won with a 6 goal difference, they are now ranked first, with a 10 goal advantage. 

New Radiant, ranked at number two, has an eight goal advantage, while Maziya has seven. 

In Odi Sport's first match, they beat Untied Victory with  4-nil score. 

A moment of silence to mourn former National Team captain Ibrahim Ifrah Areef, who passed away on Thursday night, was observed ahead of yesterday's match. The teams wore black arm bands in tribute. 

Yesterday's match saw Odi's Luthuanian forward Karolis Laukžemis score a hattrick. Laukžemis scored the first goal at 11 minutes into the match. 

Odi scored the first four goals within half an hour into the match. Two minutes into taking the lead, Odi's Abdulla Looth scored the second goal. 

Ibrahim Waheed Hassan, who scored a goal in the previous match as well, scored another goal this time. He shot the team's third goal of the match at the 21st minute. 

The fourth goal was scored by Ibrahim Iman at the 30the minute mark. 

As the second half began, Laukžemis scored two more goals and completed his hattrick. 

The final goal was scored by Muzdhan Hassan during extra time. Before this, Valencia's Abdul Sameel Hassan scored the team's sole goal. 

This match has brought the second week of the league to an end. The next match of the league will be on Tuesday afternoon where Victory will meet TC.
