Maldives has secured wins in their first two games of the Commonwealth Beach Handball Championship currently being held at Kulhudhuffushi City.
The championship started yesterday, with Maldives playing against Sri Lanka for their first match. Maldives won the game with a set score of 2-1.
The score for the first set was 28-24 with a Maldives win. Sri Lanka won the next set with a score of 34-26. Maldives won the deciding set with a score of 7-4.
Maldives played against South Africa earlier this morning, mounting a two-set win. The scores for each set were 22-9 and 22-13.

Maldives' next opponent will be tournament favorites Pakistan. The match is set to take place today at 8:00 pm.
Pakistan played against India yesterday and Sri Lanka today, claiming victory in both games. Pakistan secured both wins with a 2-0 set score each.
Bangladesh has also won two of their games. Bangladesh won their match against South Africa yesterday with a two-set win. They won their match against India today with a 2-1 set win.
Six teams are competing in this championship, with the best four teams being able to move on to the semi-finals. The final game will be held this coming Monday. This is the first time the Commonwealth Beach Handball Championship is being held.
