Dhaadhu's four goals start Maziya off strong in League

Champion team Maziya started the Dhivehi Premier League (DPL) off with a major win against Eagles, ending the match with a 5-1 score.

Naiz Hassan (Dhaadhu) scored four out of the five goals.

The DPL has made a comeback after a year-and-a-half hiatus. Maziya's first game has come off the heels of their Charity Shield match win on Monday against Eagles as well.

Compared to the Charity Shield match, Maziya's playing was quite different in the DPL game, with them controlling the entire match.

The first half ended with Maziya having scored three goals.

The first goal was scored by Naiz Hassan (Dhaadhu) and was assisted by Hassan Nazeem (Choatu) via a cross into the penalty area.

The second goal came about when Eagles player Ahmed Hassan attempted to defend on their side of the field by kicking the ball away. His kick resulted in the ball being set up for a header by a Maziya player who headed the ball into the goal.

The third goal was scored by Naiz Hassan (Dhaadhu), assisted by Hamza Mohamed (Hampu).

After Maziya's third goal, their playing eased up a bit. This resulted in Eagles player Ibrahim Mahdhy Hussain (Feydhoo Ibbe) scoring a goal while Maziya's defense was slack.

Maziya changed their formation and regained control after they conceded that goal.

Naiz Hassan (Dhaadhu) scored his hat trick within the first half, with Hamza Mohamed (Hampu) having assisted.

Maziya's fifth goal was scored by Naiz Hassan (Dhaadhu) as well in a breathtaking manner.
