The Dhivehi Premier League is making a comeback after a hiatus, and with Dhiraagu becoming their title sponsor, the tournament will now be called "Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League."

Dhiraagu, who had introduced the Dhivehi Premier League in the year 2000, has sponsored the league two other times in the past.

The league will run until 5th February 2026 and will have Maldives' top 10 football teams competing. The teams are Maziya, Valencia, Victory, New Radiant, United Victory, Eagles, T.C., Buru, Green Streets and Odi Sports.

Dhiraagu Chief Commercial Officer Ali Riyaz has stated that he is elated at the opportunity of Dhiraagu being named the title sponsor for Maldives' most prestigious football tournament.

"As football is the most popular sport in Maldives, we are set on prioritizing on aiding building players up and to bring back the love and excitement it once had," said Ali.

FAM President Ahmed Thoriq (Tom) has said that he acknowledges and is thankful for the help Dhiraagu has given during a time of them trying to bring the sport to new heights, in reigniting the spirit of football, and in their efforts to establish competitive platforms where players and clubs can grow.

"I would like to acknowledge that Dhiraagu has been an important contributor to Maldivian football since the beginning," said Tom.

Dhiraagu has been sponsoring various football activities. They have also sponsored the SAFF Championship held in Maldives and Sri Lanka in 2008.
