Maziya coach Luisma Hernández has stated during last night's post-game interview that not just Maziya, everyone in the nation is deeply satisfied with the return of Maldivian football.
Maziya beat Eagles last night during the Charity Shield match, a pre-season game prior to the beginning of the Dhivehi Premier League (DPL).
"We are really happy. Maldivian football is back," said Luisma.
He also stated that Maziya is also satisfied as they were also part of the effort in kicking off the season and Maldivian football. He went on to say that he is also satisfied with giving younger players the chance to play.
Eagles coach Ahmed Nimad has stated that they went out to play against Maziya without proper preparation, attributing to a lack of team fitness and player injuries.
Luisma expressed that he was jaw-dropped with the Eagles performance considering the difficulties they're currently facing.
"I am in a state of awe. They played a really good game. They even capitalized on their opportunities," said Luisma while speaking of the Eagles' performance.
He went on to say that Maziya got the chance to score a third goal as well. He was quite satisfied with his players' performances as well.
Luisma said that he is somewhat pleased with the current quality of Maldivian football.
DPL will begin on Thursday, with Maziya and Eagles playing against each other again. Luisma said that they will work to improve upon what he saw during the Charity Shield match.
