Eagles coach Ahmed Nimad has said that Maziya deserves praise for the work they put in to keep Maldivian football alive when a shadow was cast over the sport.
Before tonight's Charity Shield match, Nimad has said that Maziya is one of the reasons that the national team saw success when they played the two games against Sri Lanka recently.
"I deeply respect and applaud Maziya for the work they've done in keeping Maldivian football alive in recent times. Maziya's influence can also be seen in recent national football successes," said Nimad.

A lot of clubs don't pay their players their salary during the football season, which is against the rules. Most clubs pay salaries if games are being played.
However, even during the one and a half year "off-season", Maziya continued to pay their players their monthly salaries.
New Radiant, a team that has made a comeback after a hiatus, was the other team to praise Maziya for their efforts in maintaining the spirit of football.
New Radiant Club Chairman Ahmed Mubeen said that the investment made by Maziya during Maldivian football's darkest time was the light that was needed.
He also stated that Maziya was a big "helper" in the successes the Maldivian national football team achieved playing against Sri Lanka.

"Our national football team played and won against Sri Lanka during the South Asian Cup during a record low for Maldivian football. Maziya has been a big helper in the victories the national team has achieved," Mubeen stated on social media.
"The investment made by Maziya's management during the fading light of Maldivian football, while a small gesture, is what brought hope."
As per Mubeen, he expressed his gratitude to Maziya Chairman Ahmed Sajid and others from the club's management for their work towards Maldivian football, while also congratulating the national team on their victory.
Maziya is also the team who has best prepared for the upcoming football season, something the team has been on top of every season.
