This marks the second time a 14-year-old has reached an open final, following Yusuf Kayan Hamdan Zaki’s appearance in last year’s Mulikolhu Raalhugandu Open.

Yasin also won the junior title earlier in the same tournament and advanced to the open final after defeating Mohamed Inan Abdul Hannan in the semi-finals (13.37 vs. 10.93 points). Ammadey beat Ahmed Hisham Shaheem in the other semi-final with 13 points.

In the quarterfinals:

  • Ammadey defeated Sayyid Salahuddin (12 pts)
  • Hisham scored 10.07
  • Inan scored 12.50 against Ahmed Luzein
  • Yasin beat Mohamed Fariz with 13.50 pts

For the first time in Maabaidhoo, MSA introduced a bodyboarding event, with Ali Javeed (Jatte) winning the open category.

The next stop in the National Surf League will be held at Varunulaa Raalhugandu in Malé.
