Champions HDC face defeat against Dhadimagu and Huraa

This years Volleyball League champions HDC faced defeat against Fuvahmulah City's Dhadimagu Sports and Recreation Club and Huraa Community Club, their first two games after becoming champions.

This years Volleyball League champions HDC faced defeat against Fuvahmulah City's Dhadimagu Sports and Recreation Club and Huraa Community Club, their first two games after becoming champions.

HDC's match against Huraa Club ended in a 3-1 set defeat, with the first set score of 25-19 in favor of Huraa, and the second set score of 25-22 in favor of HDC.

Huraa won the next two sets with scores of 25-22 and 25-21 respectively. This marks Huraa's second win in the National Volleyball League, moving them up to second in the rankings. The Man of the Match was won by Mikal Vujicic.

HDC's first match in the National Volleyball League (which began last Friday, 4th July 2025) was against Dhadimagu Club, with a losing score of 3-1. The first set went to HDC with a score of 25-21, while the next three sets were won by Dhadimagu with score sets of 25-21, 25-22 and 25-14.

The leagues first match saw Huraa face off against Police Club, with a 3-1 win. The scores were 25-23, 25-17, 22-25 and 25-23. They went on to lose their Saturday game against Dhivehi Sifainge Club (DSC) in a 3-1 set defeat. DSC took the win with set scores of 25-20, 20-25, 25-17 and 25-23.

Dhadimagu lost their Saturday game against Police Club with a consecutive three set loss, scoring 25-14, 25-22 and 25-11 in favor of Police Club.

DSC leads the leaderboard after a three set win yesterday evening (6th July 2025) against Police Club. The set scores were 25-18, 25-22 and 25-14.

DSC and Huraa both have six points with the teams being in first and second respectively. Third and fourth place are occupied by Dhadimagu and Police Club respectively, with both teams also having a similar score of three points.

HDC is currently in fifth place with no points on the board. They have an upcoming match against Police Club tomorrow and another match the day after Wednesday night against DSC.

Among the five teams playing in the league at the Social Center indoor court, the top four teams will be chosen to compete in the National Volleyball Championship.
