DSC claims victory over HDC in VAM Cup championship game

In the champion-deciding game that saw five sets and a set score of 3-2, the Dhivehi Sifainge Club (DSC) claims victory over previous VAM Cup champions and becomes the reigning champion.

In the champion-deciding game that saw five sets and a set score of 3-2, the Dhivehi Sifainge Club (DSC) claims victory over previous VAM Cup champions and becomes the reigning champion.

The final took place last night (2nd July 2025) at Social Center's indoor court with a score of the first set being 26-24 in the favor of DSC. HDC claimed the next two sets with 25-23 and 25-22 respectively.

DSC claims the fourth set with a score of 25-22 and became champions of the VAM Cup with a final set score of 15-10. Luiz Felipe Pereira of DSC was named Man of the Match.

Last year's (2024) VAM Cup saw HDC become the champions after defeating DSC. The last time DSC became the reigning champion was when they defeated the Police Club in the 2019 finals.

The Dhandimagu Sports and Recreation Club, hailing from Fuvahmulah City, claimed third in this years (2025) VAM Cup. Dhandimagu faced off against Huraa Community Club to be crowned third.

This three-set game saw Dhandimagu with set scores of 25-20, 25-10 and 25-17. Ali Huzaam of Dhandimagu was named Man of the Match.

The tournament began with two groups, with a total of 8 teams. In the semi-finals, HDC claimed victory against Dhandimagu, with DSC claiming victory against Huraa.

The four teams that went on to play in the semi-finals have been given the opportunity to play in this years National Volleyball League. Of the two teams that were in third place in their respective groups, Police Club won against Sports Club City with a three-set win on Monday night to claim the final spot in the National Volleyball League.

10. Best Foreign Player: Luiz Felipe Pereira (DSC)

11. Best Overall Player: Hussain Shahid (DSC)
