Aamin and Eyan win Burunu Shikaaru

Aamin Umar Moosa and Eyan Ahmed have been crowned champions of Burunu Shikaaru, the first tournament under this year's National Bodyboarding League.

Aamin became Men's Open Champion through beating reigning champion Ali Khushruvan (Kuda Ayya) in the finals held at Raalhugandu yesterday.

With a total of 13.76 points, Aamin won the heat with a 0.26 point difference. Kuda Ayya received 13.50 points. Aamin also scored the highest points for a single wave in this heat. He scored 8.33 on his fourth wave.

In the semifinals of this category, with a total of 13 body boarders, Amin won against Ali Javid. Kuda Ayya went to the finals through defeating Ahmed Nazmeen.

This is Aamin's first win in a tournament's open category.

In the junior category, Eyan became champion with a 2.33 point difference in the final heat, rising ahead of last year's champion Azaan.

With two 6.50 pint waves in the final heat, Eyan scored a total of 13 points. Azan received a total of 10.67 points.

A total of eight body boarders competed in the junior category.
