Club WAMCO secured their fourth consecutive women’s national volleyball championship with a 3–2 win over Police Club in the final held at the Social Centre indoor court.
Police took the opening set 25–23, but WAMCO won the second set with 25–22. Police then regained the lead, winning the third set 25–23. However, WAMCO levelled again with a 25–18 fourth set, and sealed the title with a 15–8 victory during the last set.
WAMCO’s foreign player Nokyun Paovana was named player of the match.
The title marks WAMCO’s fourth straight national victory. After returning from a two-year hiatus, the club won the 2022 National Cup by beating Club Volleyball. They went on to defeat Police Club in both the 2023 and 2024 finals.
WAMCO had also reached the final in 2019, when Police Club took the title. Police had also lifted the trophy in 2018, defeating Fonadhoo Medhu Avah. In the 2016 and 2017 finals, however, they were beaten by Fuvahmulah Miskiymagu Team.
WAMCO advanced to the final after winning all three league matches. Police Club booked their spot with a hard-fought 3–2 semi-final win over Huraa Community Club with 25–20, 16–25, 16–25, 25–11, 15–13, who finished third in the league.
WAMCO's Fathimath Juzan Zareer and Aishath Majidha, and Police Club’s Aminath Areesha, who were named best players of the tournament. Aishath Nasma Ahmed from Huraa Community Club was named most promising player. WAMCO coach Ahmed Adeel (Beybe) was awarded best coach.
WAMCO’s Pattiya Juanghjan, Police Club’s Graziele Ribeiro, and Veronica of Huraa Community Club were named the best foreign players.
