Police Club has defeated reigning champions Club WAMCO by 2-3 sets and have emerged as Champions of this year's women's division of the National Volleyball League.
In the final match played at the indoor court of the Social Centre last night, Police won the sets with 24-26, 17-25, 25-19, 25-23 and 5-15.
This is the second match that WAMCO has lost in this six team league. They earlier lost to Flexa Sports Club.
WAMCO is the runner up of the League, while Huraa Community Club is the second runner-up.
After seven years, WAMCO became champions last year through beating Police Club. They also won the Association Cup held before the league. WAMCO has won the Association Cup for five consecutive years, beating Police Club each time.

Best Player of the League went to Police's Aminath Areesha. Most Promising Player was Huraa's Mariyam Rishfa, while Best Foreign Player Police's Graziela. Police's Muna Muneer was crowned Best Coach.
The League's Dream Team is made up of best outside attackers Police Club's Areesha and Club WAMCO's Aishath Majida, opposite player Flexa's Fathmath Samha, middle blockers Police's Mariyam Azma and WAMCO's Nareema Idrees, setter WAMCO's Fathimath Juzan Zareer and libero WAMCO's Nuha Waheed.
