Led by experienced marathon runner and coach Nasrullah Ahmed, the marathon team has made significant strides. Previously, the record was held by Shifaz Mohamed.
Yusuf Ibrahim competed in the marathon and broke the country's marathon record. Nasru mentioned that apart from Yusuf, other marathon runners had also broken their personal records in marathon running.
Nasru also participated in the marathon, marking his 95th marathon. He has decided to present the finishing medal of the marathon to Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef.
Sports Minister Abdulla Rafiu graced the occasion held at the podium of the running track at Maafannu Stadium on Friday night.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister stated that the present government will carry out the four synthetic projects that the previous government had attempted to initiate under the Line of Credit (LoC) from India.
