Masodi Sports Club secured a spot in the semi-finals of the second division, securing a 5-0 victory against BG Sports Club in the quarter-finals.

Despite the absence of key players, team captain Ibrahim Waheed Hassan (Ibbe) and Uzbek midfielder Jakonov Sardor, Masodi Sports Club dominated the entire match. Experienced fullback Mohamed Rashid (Hokey) led the team in today's game.

Although the first half concluded without any goals, Masodi took control in the second half. In the 52nd minute, young player Mohamed Rahil Rashid, substituting for foreign forward Odilli Felix, scored the team's first goal. Two minutes later, foreign player Mohamed Elsayed extended the lead.

Ten minutes after securing a two-goal lead, Ali Shamis (Thoppe) delivered a crucial cross in front of the keeper, leading to Masodi's third goal of the match. Subsequently, substitute Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed netted the fourth goal ten minutes later.

In the fourth minute of extra time, Islam Fekri Gabala sealed the victory with the fifth goal. The goal came from a penalty awarded by the referee after the keeper committed a mistake while attempting to clear Hussain Shareef from BG. Earlier, Hussain Sharif missed three scoring opportunities.

Masodi successfully completed the group stage without conceding a goal in four matches. The team now needs to secure a victory in the semi-final to advance to the final and potentially join the Maldives Premier League.

Masodi is set to enter the semi-finals on Sunday evening, facing the winner of the quarter-final clash between Lagoons Sports Club and Tent Sports Club.

Tomorrow evening, New Radiant will compete against Club PK in the quarter-finals of the tournament.
