In the ongoing Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Dhaka Marathon, Shamha Ahmed broke her own half marathon record for the country. She finished the marathon in 1 hour, 26 minutes, and 41 seconds, breaking her previous record set in Oslo, Norway.
On September 17, 2022, she completed the half-marathon in Oslo in 1 hour, 27 minutes, and 51 seconds. Long distance runner Mariyam Abdul Kareem (Maree) previously held the record; her time was 1 hour, 39 minutes, and 46 seconds.
