Maldives Bureau of Statistics (MBS) has launched a labour force survey today.
In a circular, the bureau announced that the Labour Force Survey 2024 will run from today until Saturday in Male', Hulhumale' and Villingili. Data will be collected by visiting randomly selected households, the bureau said.
“The bureau strongly urges households to cooperate with the survey,” it said.

The bureau stated that the survey will gather data on education levels, income details, migration, time spent on domestic chores, general demographic information, employment, the income earning population, and the voluntary worker population.
Emphasising the importance of public cooperation, the bureau described participation in the survey as a valuable national service that contributes to strengthening the country’s statistical system.
