Under an ongoing investigation, passports have been held today of senior officials of the previous government's Housing Ministry.

It has been learned that the passports have been held in relation to an ongoing investigation, on request from the Anti Corruption Commission.
The persons whose passports have been held are:
- Akram Kamaluddeen, former State Minister
- Mohamed Arif, former Senior Executive Director
- Lirgam Waheed, former Senior Executive Director
- Ahmed Vishan Naseem, Director General
Of these, only Vishan Naseem is currently in position at the Housing Ministry.
Officials from the previous government whose passports have been held are those that led the allocation of flats and land plots at the time under Gedhoruveriya and Binveriya housing schemes.
