The biggest catch was caught by Hussain Naeem, with a grouper weighing a whopping 37 kilos. Goalhians Sports Clubs' Hassan Azzam was crowned the Best Fisherman, with DeTune Fishing's Fathimath Fezleen winning as his female counterpart.
Ooredoo stated that this year's Masrace had been energetic and fun, asserting that the upcoming two races would also prove to be equally enjoyable by all.
The next tournaments will be held in Lhaviyani atoll Naifaru and Gaafu Dhaalu atoll Thinadhoo. The Naifaru edition of the Masrace will commence on August 16, with the race starting in Thinadhoo on August 23. Prizes will be awarded separately in each island.
Winners of the Ooredoo Masrace will win MVR 25,000. Runner-ups will receive MVR 10,000, while third place gets MVR 5000. Best Fisherman and Fisherwoman each will receive MVR 1000 along with a PIO Ultimate Sea Spirit/ Gangster (H/D) fishing rod.
