MDP today denied the allegations against former First Lady Fazna Ahmed made by Homeland Security Minister Ali Ihusan in parliament today in his defence against a no confidence motion filed to remove him from office.

Responding to allegations against Ihusan that the Homeland Ministry filled forms by extracting information from the DNR database to falsely register people as ruling party PNC members, Ihusan showed a picture of Fazna.

The minister claimed that the photo shows Fazna with a file containing printed information from the DNR database, and that the file was used during the 2023 presidential campaign.

He also questioned why the matter was not investigated at the time.

MDP's Chairperson Fayyaz Ismail responded to the allegations at MDP's National Assemly, and said that the file in question was a list of MDP members who were eligible to vote in the January 2023 primary elections. He further detailed that the photo was taken inside an MDP campaign office during the primary campaign.

"When we fill out the membership form, we take a photo of each member. We have the technology, we have databases and we have them like that [with photos]. We have always had our own lists and lists with photos," Fayyaz said.

He also said it was not a problem to carry a list with photos of MDP members.
