Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Abdulla Khaleel has today travelled to India on an official visit.
This is Minister Khaleel's first official trip to India after he was appointed on September 30, 2024. He did, however, accompany President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on his State visit to India in October.
In a post on social media platform X, Khaleel said that he will meet with India's Minister of External Affairs Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and hold discussions on further strengthening India-Maldives relations.
Unlike previous trips, the Foreign Ministry has not shared further details of this trip as of yet.
However, Indian media cites government officials as saying that Khaleel is on a three day visit to India.
They report that the Minister will meet with his counterpart in India later today.
