Seven Chinese tourists who went missing while snorkeling near the Boamas Kandu dive site near Vaavu atoll, Fulidhoo, have been rescued.
According to police, the group was reported missing last evening. A Fulidhoo speedboat in the area had located and rescued them from the sea.
Authorities confirmed that all seven individuals were in good condition.
Incidents involving tourists being lost or drowning while swimming have occurred in the past. Late last year, eight tourists drowned in similar incidents.
