The city council said it would be helping those in need of assistance in lodging complaints regarding the flat list.
Malé City Council has decided to provide assistance to facilitate the submission of complaints regarding the flat list published by the government in late February.
The city council said in an announcement that the office will assist in submitting complaints from Monday until April 15, which is also the last date to escalate any grievances regarding the flat list.
According to the council, the general services section of the office will be open from Monday until April 5 between 10:00 to 14:30 and 21:30 to 23:00 everyday, to assist in submitting complaints.
However, from the April 6 to April 15, the service will be available from 09:00 to 16:00 and 21:00 to 23:00.
The move follows protests outside the Housing Ministry, expressing concerns regarding the complaint submission regulations.
As of last week, 2,843 complaints were lodged regarding the flat list. These include 2,079 complaints related to three-bedroom flats and 764 complaints related to two-bedroom flat lists.
Regarding the complaints, the Ministry said it would work on addressing the concerns raised by the public.
According to the list reviewed by the government, 1,820 people would receive the social housing flats. Of these, 1,423 are eligible for three-bedroom flats while 397 people are eligible for two-bedroom flats.
The list found 2,695 people whose forms were ineligible, and 424 who became ineligible to receive flats after a change in their points.
The opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) also protested against the government issued list.
