Masodi Sports Club has advanced to next season's Maldivian Premier League after defeating Tent Sports Club 5-1 in the semi-finals of the second division tournament.

For the first time in its history, Masodi Sports Club, the previous third-division runners-up, has stepped up to compete in the second division.

Taking the lead, Masodi scored their first goal of the day, with Ali Shamis (Thoppe) being caught at deep mid-field by Hussain Shareef at short mid-field. Despite this, Tent Sports Club managed to level the scores by the end of the first half when Chalana Chameera placed the ball into the bottom corner of the net.

This is the first time Masodi has scored a goal in the tournament. They finished their four group games without conceding a goal. In the first two matches, Mahibadhoo Sports Club beat LT Sports 4-0, while JJ Sports Club defeated JJ Sports Club 6-0. They defeated Kuda Henveiru United 1-0 in their last match.

In the quarter-finals as well, Masodi made a significant stride while maintaining a clean sheet. They secured a decisive 5-0 victory against BG Sports Club.

Masodi extended their lead for the second time during the second half through a penalty corner. Hussain Sharif earned a penalty corner, leading to Islam Fekri Gabala being sent off. The third goal materialized in the 80th minute when Abdulla Ziyan (Junki) skillfully struck the ball. Mohamed Alsayyid netted his fourth goal in the 90th minute, and Ziyaan sealed the fifth goal during extra time.

Looking ahead, Masodi is set to face the winner of the semi-final clash between New Radiant and Victory Sports Club in the final scheduled for Friday evening.
