National Centre for Information Technology (NCIT)'s account on social media platform X has been hacked last night.
Yesterday afternoon, the account posted about a training for Microsoft 365 administrators. Following this, access to the account has been lost.
NCIT's X display name has also been changed to 'Lcmbard', a bitcoin business. The usertag remains unchanged so far.
Users on social media are voicing criticism over the account of the government entity overseeing IT issues becoming hacked. They voice fears that if the institute cannot protect their own social media accounts, then the personal information of the public they hold may also be at risk.
