HPA cautions of respiratory virus spread

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has urged the public to take precautions as the spread of a respiratory virus increases.

HPA today, said a rise in cases of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), which is known to cause cold-like symptoms. Infants and adults over 65 are particularly at risk of severe symptoms, including difficulty breathing.

The agency is closely monitoring the situation, and has recommended several precautions including frequent handwashing, avoiding crowded places, and wearing masks.
