Eydhafushi football team, Champions on Ninety Plus Gold Cup, received a red carpet welcome on their return to Baa atoll Eydhafushi.
Festivities surrounded the team from the point the launch they were travelling in reached the island, with row boats festooned with decorations accompanying them to the harbour.
The harbour was decked with decorations and crowds gathered to welcome back the champion players.
Eydhafushi Council members welcomed them back to the island and escorted them on a red carpet to a dedicated vehicle, which took them around the island to the stadium in a special parade.
The stadium, with a capacity of about 1000, was packed with supporters. Private individuals gifted prize money to the team at the event. Baa atoll council and Eydhafushi council expressed thanks to the team for their glowing performance.
Eydhafushi won the Gold Cup through beating Addu 2-0.
