Former Governor Ahmed Naseer, who most recently was Ambassador at Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has once again been appointed as Advisor to the Minister of Finance.
Former Governor Ahmed Naseer, who most recently was Ambassador at Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has once again been appointed as Advisor to the Minister of Finance.
Naseer was appointed to this post after Moosa Zameer became Minister of Finance on September 30. Previously, he served under Zameer who was earlier the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
After this administration came into office on November 17, Naseer's first posting was also as Advisor to then Finance Minister Mohamed Shafeeq. While he was in this ministerial rank, he was later transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In addition to the Minister, there are currently 12 other political appointees at the Ministry of Finance. This includes Advisor Naseer, 3 State Ministers and 8 Deputy Ministers.
