Motorcycle rally in solidarity with Gaza to be held tomorrow

A group of scholars and civil society organizations in Maldives will hold a motorcycle rally tomorrow in solidarity with Gaza.

The rally, "Gaza aa Eku" [With Gaza], is scheduled to begin at 4:15 pm tomorrow from the Rasfannu area in Male'.

The event aims to raise awareness against Israel’s actions in Gaza and will conclude with a special Dua in the Rasfannu area.

At a press conference held by Islamic scholars last night, they emphasized the importance of speaking out in defense of the people of Gaza. The scholars urged the public to raise their voices against the ongoing genocide and ethnic cleansing in Gaza, and also to challenge those who seek to normalize such acts.

In addition to the rally, the scholars and organizations involved have decided to expand their efforts to fundraise and provide aid to Gaza.

The rally comes amid continued violence in Gaza, where Israel's operations have resulted in significant civilian casualties. Yesterday, an Israeli attack on a civilian house killed 23 people, mostly women and children.

Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz stated yesterday that Israel is expanding its operations in Gaza and troops aim to clear areas of "terrorists and infrastructure" and capture additional territory to be incorporated into Israel's security zones.

Katz's comments follow ongoing violence and the displacement of thousands of people in Gaza, home to approximately 2.4 million individuals.
