BML has announced the recipients of its scholarship fund to build talented youth in banking and finance.
The scholarships were awarded to Reesham Mohamed, Noorhan Mohamed Moosa and Aishath Shara Naseer.
The scholarship is be available to study the field of banking and finance. Degrees eligible under the scholarship include accounting, financial technology, financial engineering, risk management and financial reporting and analytics.
BML's CEO and Managing Director Mohammed Shareef said the scholarship opportunity is an important step in the bank's efforts to expand the banking and finance sector in Maldives. The bank considers it important to provide such opportunities to the youth, he said.
This year, the bank has also given three youth the opportunity to pursue higher education abroad under the scholarship. The scholarship will cover tuition fees, monthly stipends, visa fees, book allowance, establishment allowance and ticket expenses.
Six students are currently studying abroad under BML scholarships. This is the third year of the BML scholarship.
