Bank of Maldives (BML) has rebranded three of its branches based within the atolls of Maldives to BML Islamic branches.

The bank announced this in a statement issued marking the 10th anniversary of BML Islamic. The statement detailed that this move is in line with BML's strategies, and that the three branches which got rebranded are B. Eydhafushi, Adh. Mahibadhoo and Addu's Gan branch.

Going forward, these branches will prioritise Islamic banking services, the bank said.

BML's CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef said the rebrand was brought to the branches in these atolls to provide services that customers want. He also assured that all services available from an Islamic bank would also be offered from these branches.

"As the largest Islamic bank in Maldives, this bank provides all services including account, card and financing services. This bank introduced Islamic overdraft financing, cash financing, hybrid home financing and Islamic debit cards to Maldives," he further said.

He also highlighted that BML Islamic is the only bank in the country that offers credit card services under Islamic Sharia.

BML Islamic's services are designed and provided in accordance with Shariah. BML Islamic's fund is completely separate and its products are designed in accordance with the standards used in Islamic banks internationally.
