The deadline for submitting complaints regarding the list of recipients of flats under the Gedhoruveriya housing scheme has been extended to April 15.
Previously, the Housing Ministry set the deadline for complaints for March 31. However, with government offices closed from today until April 6, the window for submitting complaints has been extended, the ministry said.
The ministry said that they are reviewing complaints received so far, and exploring possible resolutions.
They said that they had received various documents via the portal from persons listed as eligible and ineligible on the previous interim list of recipients published by the previous administration.
Complaints submitted by those ineligible will be checked via government ministries where possible, and if they are seen to be eligible based on information available therein, then solutions would be found for them, the ministry said.
The ministry appealed for such persons to submit complaints together with details.
In the reviewed list published by this government, 1,820 persons were deemed eligible to receive flats. This includes 1,423 persons eligible to receive three bedroom flats, and 397 persons for two bedroom flats.
Forms of 2,695 persons have been ruled ineligible, with 424 removed from list of recipients after changes to their points on review. The list also includes details on why such persons have been ruled ineligible.
