Parliamentary Group Leader of ruling People's National Congress (PNC) Ibrahim Falah has stated that the entire '100 percent' of the party's parliamentary group stands with President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.
He makes this remark as rumours abound that there may be rifts within the party, and between President Muizzu and Parliament Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla. These rumours arose following the dismissal of Abdul Raheem's son, Ibrahim Faisal, from the post of Tourism Minister earlier today.
Some media outlets have also reported that there are unofficial efforts to remove Abdul Raheem from the post of Parliament Speaker.
Falah dismissed all these rumours as baseless, asserting that the party remains steadfast behind President Muizzu, and that there are no plans being made against Speaker Abdul Raheem or for his dismissal.
President's Office has not so far disclosed reasons for Faisal's dismissal.
