A large tree on Maaveyo Magu has fallen in today's heavy rains and strong winds in Male' City, with many vehicles parked on the street being damaged as a result.
Videos of the location shared on social media show the tree fallen across the street, blocking traffic. The tree was located across from Countline Shop on Maaveyo Magu, a road that sees heavy traffic regularly.
The tree had fallen through being uprooted in the winds.
It is so far unclear how many of the motorcycles parked on the street sustained damages in the incident.
There are currently no report of any injuries.
Relevant authorities are now working on removing the fallen tree and clearing the street, with the street currently being cordoned off.
MET Office has issued a Yellow Alert across a large part of the country even today, with strong winds of 45 miles per hour, heavy rain, rough seas and thunderstorms predicted.
