Major works on Haa Dhaalu atoll Hanimaadhoo’s harbour project is now complete, the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) revealed on Monday.
According to MTCC, 93 percent of the work on the harbour development project is now complete.
The work on the harbour's main hub and paving is 98 percent complete, and the majority of the ongoing work is on the concrete jetty, MTCC said.
Other ongoing work includes dredging the harbour entrance, constructing revetment walls and groynes to protect the shoreline, and installing finishing touches such as ramps, bridges, and lighting.
The Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure allotted a budget of MVR 69 million for the project.
