Immigration said that they were taken into detention under a special raid operation carried out last night after Police intelligence received reports that they were engaging in widespread prostitution.
They revealed that those detained are two women from Vietnam.
Immigration shared photos of items seized from the detainees on social media, showing large amounts of cash. Further details were not revealed.
Immigration is currently conducting special operations to identify and deport expatriates residing in the country illegally. This week, they detained a number of expatriates illegally running market stalls in Male'.
