Ooredoo expands 5G service to 80 percent of Maldives

Ooredoo Maldives has expanded its 5G mobile service further across the country, with 80 percent of Maldives now included in the coverage zone.

This includes 79 inhabited islands and eight resorts, with over 225 5G sites established across the country.

Ooredoo described this expansion of service as a success for the company.

With the success, Ooredoo said its 5G services has become Maldives' strongest and most extensive 5G network and will enable more people to experience 5G with faster internet speeds.

Ooredoo said it is always committed to empowering individuals, businesses and industries with advanced technology to facilitate innovation, efficiency and digital transformation in various areas.

Ooredoo announced the expansion of 5G services to 60 per cent of the country in August last year, and is working to provide the service nationwide.
