Vashafaru secures a spot in the Haa Alif atoll semifinals of the Golden Futsal Challenge 2025, even as Utheemu still awaits a win.
Utheemu was amongst the top 16 last year. This year, both their matches in the group stage have ended with ties. In the first match, they drew against Vashafaru, with the second match ending with a 3-3 draw against Ihavandhoo last night.
Vashafaru won against Muraidhoo, with a 1-4 score. With this win with a three goal difference, Vashafaru has gathered 7 points and a spot in the semi-finals. In their second match, they played against most recent atoll champions Dhihdhoo and defeated them.
Vashafaru is currently in the top spot in Group B while Muraidhoo won three ponts through three matches. Dhihdhoo scored three points from two matches. Utheemu gathered two points through two matches and Ihavandhoo scored one point through two matches.
In the group stage, Vashafaru will play a math against Ihavandhoo, while Muraidhoo will face off against Utheemu. Utheemu will also play against Dhihdhoo after this. Meanwhile, Dhihdhoo's next match will be against Ihavandhoo.
In Haa Alif atoll Group A, Kelaa beat Filladhoo with a score of 0-5 last night, with Mamdhooh Abdul Gadhir scoring a hattrick. Maarandhoo won against Hoarafushi as well, with a 0-3 score.
While group A's Kelaa holds 6 points from two matches, Maarandhoo has 6 points from three matches. Baarah secured 3 points from two matches and Filladhoo has a single point from two matches. Hoarafushi holds a single point from all three matches they have played so far.
Last year's Haa Dhaalu atoll Champion Naivaadhoo and runner up Nolhivaram are both in Group B. With the two teams playing against each other last night, Naivaadhoo won with 1-5. Although Nolhivaram took the lead with the first goal, Naivaadhoo caught up within the first half itself, scoring the remaining four goals in the second half.
Vaikaradhoo, in the same group, defeated Nellaidhoo with a 1-2 score last night.
Naivaadhoo now ranks first in the group, having won both their matches. Kumundhoo is second in the group, with 4 points gathered in two matches. Third is Vaikaradhoo, with 4 points from three matches. Nolhivaram got 3 points from 2 matches while Nellaidhoo lost all three matches played so far.
Leading Group A is Neykurandhoo, who beat Finey 3-0 last night. Neykurandhoo has gathered 6 points through winning both matches played so far.
Second in rank is Makunudhoo, who gathered 4 points in two matches. Third is Nolhivaramfaru who scored 4 points through three matches, winning against Hanimaadhoo 1-0 last night. Nolhivaramfaru's sole goal was scored in the second half by Adam Saeed. Hanimaadhoo has 1 point through three matches while Finey has 1 point through two matches.
This afternoon, there will be two matches played by Alif Dhalau atoll and two matches by Raa atoll. The evening will see commencement of Kaafu atoll matches and some matches of Thaa atoll.
