Applications for the Australia Awards Scholarships, funded by the Australian Government's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, are open until next month.
The scholarships cover tuition fees, living expenses, and other study-related costs, reflecting Australia’s commitment to fostering long-term development and leadership capabilities.
The scholarships offer aspiring leaders in Maldives an opportunity to pursue full-time master’s-level courses in fields aligned with the country’s development priorities. These areas focus on strengthening governance, sustainability, and societal resilience.
Aminath Mohamed, who completed her Master of Management (Accounting) at Melbourne University in 2020, highlighted how the scholarship contributed to her academic, personal, and professional growth.
She said that the program equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to drive meaningful change in Maldives.
Upon completing their studies, recipients are expected to return home and contribute to the nation’s social and economic development. Their expertise will help address critical challenges and promote sustainable progress.
Graduates of the Australia Awards Scholarships will also gain access to the Australia Global Alumni Network, which connects them with professionals across the region and the world. Through this network, alumni can explore career opportunities, collaborations, and advocacy initiatives.
