MI College awards top achievers of Agriculture

Mi College announced 10 scholarships for students during the ceremony, promoting continuous growth in agricultural education.

MI College has awarded "top achievers" award to the first batch of students completing higher education in agriculture.

During a ceremony held at the college, Minister of Agriculture and Animal Welfare Dr Aishath Rameela bestowed the awards to the students.

The top achievers were awarded seed money to support their agriculture ventures while five best students were given the opportunity to visit Sri Lanka to gain hands on experience in gardening and further their skills in the field.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Rameela highlighted the importance of higher education in agriculture to enhance food security.

She added that the government is working towards initiatives that enhance the agriculture sector, including continuous cooperation towards private individuals working to develop the sector.

MI College has been at the forefront of agricultural education since the opening of its School of Agriculture and research lab in Addu City in 2022.

MI College said that the its Chairman, Ahmed Mottaki envisions a future where Maldivians are equipped with the knowledge and skills to enhance their agricultural practices.

MI College currently has 13 campuses and offers a range of opportunities to pursue education across four faculties.

MI College is currently offering opportunities to pursue education in Gardening at its campus in Addu City for its January intake.
