National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) has said that in any instance where patients have to pay at their own expense, they will be provided applicable Aasandha coverage.

Under the Aasandha reform measures, the company earlier notified health care providers that Aasandha coverage will be issued only after first deducting from any private insurance covers the patient holds.

After this change came into effect on Friday, some private insurance companies ceased cashless services, resulting in patients having to pay for services at their own expense.

With the public raising concerns about this, NSPA released a statement saying that if any persons do not receive private insurance coverage, or is unable to seek services, those persons will receive coverage from Aasandha.

The statement says that Aasandha coverage will be provided in any circumstance where patients have to pay at their own expense.

NSPA's statement further added that false information is being spread regarding the changes to Aasandha service, and cautioned to not do so.

From amongst private insurance providers, Allied Insurance has now announced that they have resumed provision of cashless service.
